Why Burger Books?
Burger Books was founded by Groveport Madison Local Schools Board of Education Vice President, LaToya Dowdell-Burger. She knows first hand the struggles that students face with obtaining scholarships. Mrs. Dowdell-Burger did not have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher in addition to graduating late (summer) due to testing requirements. Therefore, this scholarship was birthed to help the student that may not be the best test taker. However, they are hard-worker or may have had some life circumstances that may have hinder grades etc..
The Burger Books Scholarship is for Groveport Madison High School Seniors with a GPA range or 2.0 to 2.9. We will offer a minimum of four $250.00 book scholarships (*Awards may increase in value or quantity based upon partners.). Students must complete the application and submit a 150 word Essay or a Video Essay using the prompt All the Places I Will Go.
We believe all students need support and would like to provide an opportunity to Seniors who may not have an opportunity to receive scholarships to further educational journey.
Applications will open April 15, 2022 - July 22, 2022. Applicants will receive determination letters on August 5, 2022.
